The Persitent Caravan: Activations

  • The Project Space 523 NW 1st Ave Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301 (map)

This Sunday, February 23rd, 2020 join us at FATVillage Projects, from 1 to 4 pm, for an activation of 'The Persistent Caravan' installation, with three live performances:
- Cuentos Retablados: Mudada by Carolina Cueva & Jahaira Rios Campos y Galvez
- Re-tracing Detention Centers by Sonia Baez-Hernandez & Diego Klock-Perez
- The Lighter Side of Darkness by Beju & Muriente

'The Persistent Caravan' is a collaborative project by local artists Aurora Molina y Edison Penafiel, who have created an immersive installation focusing on socio-political issues relevant to both artists’ personal and collective experiences as migrants, including the physical and emotional struggles migrants live through their often-perilous journeys. The intent of presenting this work is to encourage dialogue around migration, displacement, and internment, all pressing matters of our current global society.

This event is free and open to the public.
