Radio Silence: Elisions and Omissions Panel Discussion

  • FATVillage Project Space 523 NW 1st Ave Fort Lauderdale United States (map)

A period when all radio wave-based transmissions cease, Radio Silence allows us to consider the objectives, means, modes, and power of human connection.

In support of the exhibition Radio Silence on view at The Project Space FATVillage Fort Lauderdale, Radio Silence: Elisions and Omissions brings together several of the show’s artists to discuss how ideas of interrupted transmissions and the subsequent silences connect to the work on view.

Over the course of a 45-minute panel moderated by Estuary Co-Founder Allison Bolah, Radio Silence: Elisions and Omissions will explore:

  • How artists interpreted 'radio silence' and its connection to their work in the exhibition;

  • What’s skipped over, avoided, or left out - why and to what end - in daily communication vs. in art;

  • The impact of increased 'transmissions' (like social media) on art practices.

Reception begins at 6 pm. Panel begins at 7 pm.

Free and open to the public.
