This is a four week course, meeting once a week and is designed to introduce the basic principles of typesetting and letterpress printing.

Whether adding a personal touch to the perfect invitation, broadside, postcard, greeting card or business card, this workshop is designed to teach students the fundamentals of letterpress printing while they design and print their own handset type. Students will learn how to set type, lock up a form, and print using a platen press. This workshop is geared towards both beginning and advanced printers. Printers will experience the collaborative nature of the craft and leave with a stack of their own letterpress prints. 

This class will certify you to use our lead type and table top presses during open studio hours.
